Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Sept. 30-Oct. 5.
Volleyball - Attacker
No. 10-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Taylor Ristvedt was named the Red Lion Volleyball Attacker of the Week, her second honor of the season.
Ristvedt, a 6-foot-2 senior right-side hitter from Portland, has gone for at least 13 kills in seven consecutive matches, the longest such stretch of her career. She had 28 total kills on just 51 attacks, helping the Raiders sweep the Washington trip for the first time since 2015.

Volleyball - Defender
No. 23-ranked College of Idaho’s Drew Dobney was named the Red Lion Volleyball Defender of the Week.
Another clean weekend for Dobney, a 5-foot-3 junior libero from Vale, Ore., who averaged 4.86 digs per set, while recording 24 serve receptions without an error. She made a pair of outstanding digs to extend long rallies in the third-set win over Warner Pacific University (3-1).

Volleyball - Setter
No. 23-ranked College of Idaho’s Abigail Guinn was named the Red Lion Volleyball Setter of the Week, her third honor of the season.
Guinn, a 5-foot-11 freshman setter from Reno, Nev., averaged over 13 assists per set in the Coyotes’ two victories, including a career-high 57 assists in Saturday's win over Warner Pacific University. She helped the Yotes to their most efficient offensive night of the season on Friday vs. Multnomah University with 23 assists and added 11 digs, two aces and three blocks on the weekend.

Women’s Soccer – Defensive
Northwest University’s Kat Sanchez was named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Sanchez, a 5-foot-4 senior goalkeeper from Arlington, Wash., broke the school career shutouts record with her 20th in Friday and added to it with her 21st on Saturday. She made four saves during the weekend to get her two clean sheets.

Women’s Soccer - Offensive
Northwest University’s Rylee Rassier was named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Rassier, a 5-foot-4 senior forward from Spokane, Wash., scored four goals and added one assist for nine points on Saturday to lift the Eagles 5-0 over Northwest Christian University. She also scored both goals on Friday’s 2-0 victory over Corban University.

Men’s Soccer – Defensive
University of Providence’s Ole Cloppenburg was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, his second of the year.
The 6-foot senior midfielder from Melbeck, Germany, anchored the back line and scored the game-winning goal against Eastern Oregon.

Men’s Soccer - Offensive
Rocky Mountain College’s Sky Swenson was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Swenson, a six-foot junior midfielder from Berlin, Germany, recorded three goals and an assist over the weekend. In a 2-1 win over Southern Oregon, Swenson knocked in both of Rocky's goals to lift the Battlin’ Bears to victory. He now has six goals on the season.

Men’s Cross Country – Runner
Northwest University’s Riley Sine was named the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, his second honor of the year.
A senior from Spokane Valley, Wash., Sine took second out of 161 total runners at the Charles Bowles Invitational. He clocked in at 24 minutes, 40 seconds for the 8K race.

Women’s Cross Country – Runner
Eastern Oregon University’s Michelle Herbes was named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Herbes, a sophomore from Union, Ore., took second place and earned points for the Mountaineers at the Willamette Invitational, leading EOU to first place out of 14 teams. It was the first time EOU had ever won the race on either the men's or women's side. She set a personal-best time in the process, finishing in 18 minutes and two seconds.
