SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Rocky Mountain College women's soccer senior Lauryn Gamache etched her name into the top of the Bears record book on Friday afternoon, posting her first-ever five-goal game as she broke Rocky's all-time scoring record in an 11-0 victory over Northwest Christian University.
The Bears (11-3-1, 8-2-1 CCC) out-shot the Beacons 34-4 and took 19 shots on goal while hold NCU to just one.
Hannah Borgel scored the game-winner in the 15th minute and Gamache had a hat-trick before the intermission as the visitors led 5-0 at halftime. An own-goal put the Bears ahead 6-0 and five more goals were scored to close it out. Gamache needed all five of her scores to top the school-record and did so in the 81st minute.
Makenna Hadaller completed the final game of the year between the pipes with nine saves, giving her 80 on the season to lead the Beacons.
Rocky Mountain clinched a top-four seed for the upcoming CCC post-season tournament and will return to the Les Schwab Sports Park in just 11 days to begin the event hosted by NCU.
