SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – For the first time in the history of the single-site CCC Women’s Soccer championship tournament, the top seed was upset in the opening round as a 1-0 victory for No. 8 Corban over regular-season champion Oregon Tech highlighted the quarterfinal round at the Les Schwab Sports Park. All four women’s games ended as 1-0 final scores.

The Owls were shocked by the Warriors in the 721nd minute when Corban reserve Megan Harvey (pictured) fired a 35-yard blast into the middle of the nylon for what would become the game-winner in a tight defensive battle. Oregon Tech owned a 9-4 lead in shots on the evening, but Elizabeth Brock’s four saves in goal did the trick as Corban advances to the semifinal round.
#2 Eastern Oregon 1, #7 Carroll 0
While the upset was brewing on field one, another defensive gem was taking place just 30 feet away as the No. 2 seed Mountaineers survived and advanced behind a 67th-minute score from Kaitlyn McLeod off an assist from Cailin Koupal. EOU dominated play with a 22-8 shot advantage but Fighting Saint keeper Sydney Green made eight saves to preserve keep things interesting. Savannah Hutchinson made three saves of her own en route to the shutout.
#5 Southern Oregon 1, #4 Northwest University 0 (OT)
The day’s second update came in the nightcap as Southern Oregon University defeated NU by the same score for the second time in ten days. Tuesday’s heroics came just three and a half minutes into overtime when Misty Martinez scored the game-winner off a feed from Sarah Mauk.
Before that shot, both teams were tied 10-10 in shot attempts. Kailey Lemon earned the shutout with a pair of saves.
#3 Rocky Mountain 1, #6 College of Idaho 0 (2 OT)
Third-seeded Rocky Mountain needed two overtimes to pull out their 1-0 win as Alexis Robbins scored off a rebound following an Ellen Hunsaker shot in the 108th minute to punch their ticket for the semifinals.
The Bears owns an 18-5 shot advantage and took nine shots-on-goal as Kylee Atkins posted seven saves for the Yotes. Maia Wetzel recorded the shutout with four saves.

SEMIFINALS
The semifinal games will kick off at 7:00 pm on Wednesday with No. 2 Eastern Oregon taking on No. 8 Corban while simultaneously No. 3 Rocky Mountain will battle No. 5 Southern Oregon. Winners will advance to Friday’s championship game with an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship tournament up for grabs.
