SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The top remaining seeds both survived their semifinal games on Wednesday in the CCC women’s soccer championship tournament presented by U.S. Bank.
 
#2 Eastern Oregon 3, #8 Corban 0
 
After upsetting top-seed Oregon Tech in the quarterfinals, the Corban University Warriors ran out of magic on Wednesday as they were shutout by Eastern Oregon University. The Mountaineers held Corban to just three shots on goal, outshooting them 14-7 overall as Savannah Hutchinson earned a clean sheet with three saves.
 
Camie Edgington posted the eventual game-winning goal in the 41st minute, helping EOU take a 1-0 lead into the intermission. Lindsay Balkenbush and Morgan Farrington each came up with insurance goals in the second half.
 
#3 Rocky Mountain 0, #5 Southern Oregon 0 (Rocky Mountain Advances on PKs, 3-1)
 
For the second consecutive day, both Rocky Mountain and Southern Oregon completed shutouts as they battled to a 0-0 tie in their semifinal clash. SOU’s Jessie Selby made eight saves and the Bears’ Maia Wetzel recorded four in the game, before it went to a shootout, which Rocky Mountain claimed after a Wetzel save and two other Southern Oregon misses. RMC held a 13-9 advantage in total shot attempts in the contest.

CCC CHAMPIONSHIPS GAME
 

The Cascade Conference’s second automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships will be on the line on Friday when No. 2 Eastern Oregon and No. 3 Rocky Mountain face off at 2:00 pm.
