Beacons Fall to Seattle in Exhibition

The Northwest Christian University men's basketball team closed out the weekend on Saturday night with an exhibition, falling to the semi-pro Seattle Mountaineers 95-85.  
 
On a night when defense was at a premium (Both team shooting 52% from the field) it was the Mountaineers that claimed a 13-2 advantage in steals as they scored 28 points off turnovers.  
 
Ernest Ugoagu led the Beacons across the board with 16 points, four assists and eight rebounds, hitting a game-high three treys. Stevie Schlabach scored 14 while Logan Davis added 11. Logan Sand came off the bench to contribute 12 points.  
 
Seattle had six players in double-figures led by Omar Traore off the bench with 17 while Anthony Golden added 15. Among the starters, Jawan Stepney and Quayshun Hawkins scored 16 points each while Joe Jackson added 14 and six rebounds.  
 
The Beacons (1-4) will return to action next Friday night as they host the Beacon Classic. NCU will take on William Jessup on Friday night at 7:30 pm.
