Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Nov. 17-23.
Women’s Basketball – Player
Corban University’s Jordan Woodvine was named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
A 5-foot-11 senior forward from Salem, Ore., Woodvine notched her second double-double of the young season in Corban’s 65-56 victory over NAIA Division I No. 7-ranked Carroll College on Thursday, before dropping a team-best 15 points on the following day. She averaged 23.0 points (on a 55.6 field goal percentage) and 6.5 rebounds per game to help the 14
th-ranked Warriors grab two wins.

Men’s Basketball – Player
Warner Pacific University’s Kadeem Strickland was named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The 5-foot-10 junior guard from Portland is averaging 18.6 points per game, leading the Knights in scoring through only five games. Strickland shot 43.3-percent from the field, including 43.5-percent from three-point range, and 80-percent from the free throw line over the two games. He only had one turnover in 67 minutes of play, while also grabbing four steals.

Men’s Wrestling – Wrestler
Eastern Oregon University’s Marco Retano was named the Red Lion Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
A junior 184-pounder from Culver, Ore., Retano went 6-0 on the week including two dual wins against Southern Oregon University and Umpqua CC to lead EOU to victories against both teams. At the Spokane Open, Retano placed first individually as he led the Mountaineers to their first team title since the program returned in 2016. He is 16-0 to start the season and 7-0 in duals.

Women’s Wrestling – Wrestler
University of Providence’s Yurie Yoneoka was named the Red Lion Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
The senior 116-pounder from Tokyo, Japan, beat two Cascade Collegiate Conference athletes (Stephanie Blankenship of Warner Pacific University and Macie Stewart of Southern Oregon University) and won her weight class at the Spokane Open in dominant fashion. She had two pins and a tech fall, also beating Alexia Seal who was a WCWA All-American for Simon Fraser University last year.
