Women's Soccer 11/3/2019 7:01:00 PM Yasmin Mookerdum, Sports Information Graduate Assistant EOU Women's Soccer Roars Past Lions 11-0 on Senior Day LA GRANDE, Ore. - The Eastern Oregon women's soccer team clinched a spot in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships as the No. 2-seed after defeating Multnomah University 11-0 Saturday afternoon on Senior Day. It was a goal fest at Community Stadium during the women's soccer team's final game of the regular season. Seven different players contributed to the scoreboard across the 90 minutes, including first time goal scorer freshman Lindsey Balkenbush. EOU (12-2-2, 9-2-1 CCC) out shot MU 37-2 with 21 shots on goal. The Blue and Gold took apart the Lions (1-14, 0-12 CCC) right from the opening whistle, taking only two minutes to score the first goal. Senior Nan Kiebert put the Mounties in the lead when Camie Edgington ran down the right wing and crossed the ball into the box as Kiebert got on the end of it for the goal. Three minutes later Edgington set up another one of her teammates, this time assisting Mackinley Gregus. Gregus went onto score a second goal in the second half, bringing her season tally to eight goals. Junior Morgan Farrington contributed to the goal count when her shot hit the keepers hands and went in, assisted by Erika Skindlov. Farrington returned the favor when she chested down a Josee Bassett free kick and Skindlov neatly tucked it away. Farrington scored the brace when she buried the ball into the net in the 71st minute. Kaitlyn Mcleod and Edgington found the back of the net in the second half to each put a goal to their name. Kiebert went on to score two more goals, achieving a hat trick on the afternoon and finishing the season with 11 goals, a career-high, and a team-high this season. Balkenbush wrapped up the game and the regular season with her first career goal as a Mountaineer, bringing the total to 11 goals to zero. The EOU defense only allowed two shots and Cydni Cottrell and Savannah Hutchinson combined for the shutout. Lions' keeper Trisha Priest denied EOU on several occasions and did well to help her team, making 10 saves throughout the game. The Mountaineers advance to the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament on November 12th to face No. 7-seed Carroll College in Springfield, Oregon.
