Portland, Ore. | The Warner Pacific Knights (3-5) found an offensive rhythm as they rolled past the Lewis & Clark College Pioneers (1-3) 78-40 on Saturday. Every member of the Knights roster had at least one bucket.

“I’m very proud of how unselfish we were as a team” said Head Coach Matt Gregg, whose Knights had a season-high 19 assists on their 31 field goals. “Normally I would talk about our defense but today our offense came alive with extra passes and getting the ball to the middle of their zone”.

The game was in the Knights’ control from the tip-off as they got off a quick 6-0 run in the first 90-seconds of play. As the Pios climbed their way back, after the first 10 minutes, the Knights held just a one-point lead.

From the second quarter on, Warner Pac controlled the tempo of the game, taking what was a 9-point halftime lead to outscoring the Pioneers 25-7 in the fourth, and sealing the 38-point victory.

WPU scored 42 points in the paint and 37 off of 28 LC turnovers.

Courtney Jackson led all scorers with 16 points, followed by Kali Kruger who had 11. Darbi Pink added 5 assists.

The Knights will open up CCC play on Friday night at College of Idaho, tip-off at 5:30pm.
