EOU Stays Ranked in Latest Top-25 Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Concordia (Neb.) remains at No. 1 in the latest edition of the 2019-2020 NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. The Bulldogs garnered all 12 first-place votes for the third-consecutive polling period, released by the NAIA office.
The Cascade Collegiate Conference had three teams represented on the list, with Eastern Oregon University sitting in the No. 18 spot. Oregon Tech and Northwest Christian University are just outside the rankings, each receiving votes in the poll.

Top 25 Highlights
- The No. 1 Bulldogs of Concordia (Neb.) are defeating their opponents by an average of 50.
- With a 9-0 overall record, Concordia currently has four wins over top 25 teams.
- The Bulldogs outscoring their opponents by an average of 50 points each game.
- Concordia is ranks first nationally in five statistical categories including assists per game (25.1), steals per game (25.8), assist/turnover ratio (1.4), scoring margin (49.0), turnover margin (19.4)
- Reinhardt (Ga.) and Lawrence Tech (Mich.) both join the poll this week.
- Hastings (Neb.) moved into the top five this week after two road wins against Top 25 teams then-No.8 Morningside (Iowa) and then-No. 11 Northwestern (Iowa)
- Taylor (Ind.) made the biggest jump this week advancing nine spots to No. 9. The Trojans are 3-0 since the last poll with a win over No. 5 Marian (Ind.)
- Morningside (Iowa) holds record for most No. 1 rankings of all-time with 39. Indiana Wesleyan – No. 20 in this poll – is second with 34.
- Morningside also holds the record for longest consecutively ranked active school with 181 straight polls. Saint Xavier (Ill.) is second on the list with 166, which includes its time in DI Women’s Basketball.
Poll Methodology
- The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
