Forest Grove, Ore.- Behind two late three pointers from freshman Kaylen Kamelamela, the Northwest Christian University women's basketball team was able to hold off Pacific University as they won on the road 62-55.

The game had 18 lead changes with the Beacons gaining their largest lead of seven with under a minute remaining in the game. Free throws were a crucial difference maker for NCU as they shot 14-22 from the line while Pacific shot just 3-12. The Beacons were able to outrebound the Boxers 44-37 for the game behind 12 offensive rebounds.

Head Coach Chad Meadors stated, "Some wins are harder to come by than others, and some games are prettier than others. This was not the prettiest of games but we found a way to win despite playing from behind most of the game. Morgan (McKinney) was steady the entire game for us, she was our rock and then Kaylen (Kamelamela) hit some big threes for us down the stretch to give us the lead. We're ready to come back home and play a little cleaner and make a few more plays heading into a conference weekend."

The Beacons (5-2, 1-0 CCC) were led by junior Morgan McKinney with a game-high 16 points, nine rebounds, and two assists as she shot 5-8 from the field. Kaylen Kamelamela had 12 points and four rebounds as she scored eight of the Beacons final 10 points. Kayce Mock added 10 points and five rebounds in the victory.

Courtney Carolan led the Boxers (4-3) with a double-double as she posted 16 points and 11 rebounds while Brille Kovaloff added seven points, five rebounds, and three assists in the loss.

NCU will travel back home as they host The Evergreen State College (0-5, 0-2 CCC) on Friday, December 20, at 5:30pm at the Morse Event Center.
