Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Nov. 24-30.
Women’s Basketball – Player
Walla Walla University’s Carolina Montes was named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The 5-foot-5 junior guard from Irvine, Calif., scored a new career high in points, while also setting a new school record since joining the CCC, with 32 points in the Wolves’ road victory over San Diego Christian (67-58). She also made 12 free throws, another career high. Montes also had three rebounds, three assists and two steals in the game.
Men’s Basketball – Player
College of Idaho’s Ricardo Time was named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The 6-foot-2 junior guard from Palm Beach, Fla., averaged 18 points per game on the road as the Coyotes earned a road split at NAIA Division I powers Masters and Vanguard. Time scored 19 points against No. 2-ranked Master’s and 17 points in C of I’s win over Vanguard. He hit 7-of-12 from three-point range on the week, boasting a .583 shooting percentage from behind the arc. Time also averaged 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
