Visiting College of Idaho took a 21-4 lead after the first quarter and continued to pull away in defeating Evergreen, 77-40, in Cascade Collegiate Conference women's basketball action Friday night inside Costantino Recreation Center.

Emily Harwood scored 17 points and Kaylee Krusemark added 13, both off the bench, to lead the 'Yotes (12-11 overall, 8-7 CCC), while Merrily Jones recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Geoducks (0-18, 0-14).

The Coyotes were 10-for-18 from the field in the opening period, including a Krusemark 30-footer just before the buzzer, in building their insurmountable lead through 10 minutes.

Evergreen shot just 9-for-45 from the field, or 20 percent, and hit just one of its seven three-point field goal attempts. The 'Yotes limited Angela Sikora to just six points after the junior guard had gone off for a career-high 28 against them when the teams first played back on Jan. 5 in Caldwell.

Merrily Jones notched a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Deidra Miller added 13 points for the Geoducks. Chloee Hunt, an Evergreen volleyball standout and former Geoducks basketball player, joined the team for the final seven-game stretch and had a solid first outing with seven points, four rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes.

Both teams are back in action again tomorrow night, Evergreen hosting No. 10-ranked Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho playing at Northwest University.
