Cascade Conference will send 43 Qualifiers to NAIA Wrestling Nationals at Conclusion of Conference Championships
LA GRANDE, Ore. - With the final NAIA wrestling
team and
individual poll released today, the Cascade Collegiate Conference has earned x number of automatic qualifiers that will compete their way to the NAIA National Tournament. The AQ's will earn their spots after the CCC Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, held February 15-16 in Great Falls, Montana on the campus of the University of Providence.
A full preview of the championship will be posted on the CCC website tomorrow.
Individual champions from the tournament at each weight class earn automatic bids to the NAIA Wrestling National Championships, which will be held March 1-2 in De Moines, Iowa. Additional AQ's from the CCC will be based on overall finish in the tournament and are based on the number of individuals that were ranked in the top 20 final ranking at each weight class.
In addition to each weight class champion the following place winners will advance to the NAIA nationals:
125- 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th
133-2nd ,3rd, 4th, and 5th
141-2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th
149-2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th
157-2nd, 3rd, and 4th
165-2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th
174-2nd
184-2nd, 3rd,
197-2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th
285-2nd
CCC teams competing in the championships include; Eastern Oregon University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Life Pacific College, Menlo College, Montana State University Northern, Simpson University, Southern Oregon University, University of Providence and Warner Pacific University.
