KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -  Senior Dre Sotelo's three-run home runs in each game helped No. 9 Oregon Tech (20-10, 8-3 CCC) christen the new John and Lois Stilwell Stadium with a doubleheader sweep of Carroll College (9-14, 2-9 CCC), 6-5 in 10-innings in game one, and 6-4 in game two on Friday afternoon.

"I am so proud of these ladies and how they played today," said Head Coach Greg Stewart. "Carroll is a good team and we got some big hits, pitched well, and played good defense in both games. It was amazing to play at home for the first time on this incredible field. Our school is blessed to have such a great facility!"

Game 1 – Oregon Tech 6 Carroll College 5 (10-innings)

Shelby Hotchkiss laced a one-out RBI single into left field scoring Cierra Barkis with the game winner in the bottom of the 10th.

Tech took control early with the first Sotelo (Pictured) three-run homer on the day, a deep shot to centerfield for the first ever home run on the new grounds.

Barkis singled home Shayna Ige in the bottom of the third to give OIT a 4-0 lead.

A solo homer from Allison Williams cut the Tech lead back to 4-to-1.

A McKenna Armantrout double scored Ige again as the Owls went up 5-1.

A big four-run sixth-inning from the Fighting Saints would tie the game at five, highlighted by three doubles of the bats of Anna ApRoberts, Amber Brewer and Brittany Smith.

The game would stay that way until 10th, as Barkis hit a one-out double, and scored on back-to-back hits by Armantrout and Hotchkiss.

Sarah Abramson pitched the final five-innings with seven-strikeouts to grab the win and improve to 8-4 on the year.

Ali Graham, Barkis and Armantrout had two-hits each in the win.

Brewer had three-hits in the loss for Carroll.

Game 2 Oregon Tech 6 Carroll 4

The Cascade Conference leading home run duo of Brown and Sotelo each hit home runs in the first inning as the Owls scored six-runs and held on for the 6-4 win.

After Carroll took an early 2-0 lead with a pair of unearned runs in the top of the first, Tech answered with a six-run bottom of the first as Brown hit her 7th homer of the year to start the inning, Sotelo then stroked her second three-run homer of the game as Hooter took a 6-2 lead with 7-hits in the first inning.

The Saints added one-run in the second, and another in the fifth but could not get any closer, falling 6-4.

Tess Eaton pitched very well after the first-inning for Carroll College as she didn't allow a hit over the final five innings, however the damage was done as she picked up the loss falling to 4-5 on the year.

Tech's Ali Graham pitched the final three-innings, grabbing her eighth win of the year.

The two teams will conclude their four-games series with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11:00 am. Taking place between games, Oregon Tech will have its dedication ceremony for the new John and Lois Stadium. The dedication will take place between games at approximately 1:00 PM.

The John and Lois Stilwell Stadium is dedicated in honor of John and Lois's generous philanthropy to Oregon Tech. This first-rate softball complex is made possible by the vision of the Stilwells and their lead gift.

Their passion for academic excellence, athletics, and student success motivated John and Lois to generously support the University in many ways, including capital projects, student travel, and endowed scholarships which make it possible for numerous students to pursue their educational and professional dreams, now and in the future.
