LA GRANDE, Ore. –The University of British Columbia women’s golf team has been named the “Under Armour Team of the Week” for March 18-24 the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
 
The UBC squad travelled to Nipton, California to take part in the “Battle at Primm” hosted by Grandview University at Primm Country Club. The field was made up of some of the top NAIA teams including No. 10 ranked University of Victoria (Canada), No. 11 Rocky Mountain College (Mont.), No. 12 Texas Wesleyan and No. 15 Embry-Riddle (Ariz.)
 
The Thunderbirds took 1^st place in the prestigious event recording team scores of 301 and 304 for a 605 two-day total. Esther Lee tied for medalist honors with a one over par 145 (73/72). Shania Remandaban finished tied for 8^th place with a 152 (75/77), followed by Avril Li 153 (76/77) T-11^th, Cecile Kwon-157 (79/78) in 18^th, and Kate Johnston-158 (77/81) in 19^th place.
 
No. 5 British Columbia return to Indio, California for the Desert Intercollegiate Tournament hosted by Corban University at The Golf Club at Terra Lago March 24-25.
