The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period March 18-24.
Softball – Player
Trystin Crofts of College of Idaho has been selected as the Red Lion softball Player of the Week.
Crofts continued her impressive 2019 campaign with another strong performance over the (RV) Yotes’ four-game series against British Columbia. The junior from Tooele, Utah went a combined 9-for-13 with three doubles and nine RBIs on the weekend, adding three runs and two stolen bases. Crofts was particularly exceptional in the series opener, going 4-for-4 with five RBIs in the 12-0 win.

Softball – Pitcher
Colette Robert of College of Idaho has been named the Red Lion softball Pitcher of the Week.
After earning Honorable Mention CCC softball Pitcher of the Week honors last week, Robert finds herself the primary honoree this time around after a stellar pair of performances against British Columbia. The senior from Milton-Freewater, Ore. tossed consecutive shutouts to help the Yotes complete a series sweep, including a two-hitter in the series opener. Robert now ranks second in the CCC in ERA and strikeouts.

Baseball – Player
British Columbia’s Jaxon Valcke has been selected as the Red Lion baseball Player of the Week.
Valcke becomes the second-straight Thunderbird to take home baseball Player of the Week honors, helping (RV) British Columbia capture a four-game sweep of College of Idaho on the road over the weekend. The sophomore from Stratford, Ont. went 7-for-18 at the plate, including three doubles and a home run. Valcke drove in six runs, and scored four as UBC extended its winning streak to nine games.

Baseball – Pitcher
Garrett Hawkins of British Columbia has been chosen as the Red Lion baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Hawkins was absolutely dominant in his start against College of Idaho over the weekend, recording a career-high 12 strikeouts in a 3-0 shutout of the Yotes on Saturday. The freshman surrendered just two hits in eight innings of work to improve to 3-3 on the season, helping the Thunderbirds earn an impressive series sweep in Caldwell, Idaho.

Men’s Outdoor Field
Jakob Sandhagen of Eastern Oregon has been chosen as the Red Lion men’s outdoor field Athlete of the Week.
Sandhagen, a senior hailing from Buxton, Ore., won the men’s javelin at the NNU Invite on Friday, uncorking an NAIA ‘A’ standard throw of 59.46 meters at the event. His mark ranks fourth all-time at Eastern Oregon, currently sitting at No. 4 in the NAIA this season and No. 2 among CCC athletes.

Women’s Outdoor Field
Karianna Zollman of Eastern Oregon has been chosen as the Red Lion women’s outdoor field Athlete of the Week.
Zollman, a senior out of Joseph, Ore., hit an NAIA 'B' standard mark in the women's javelin throw on Friday, uncorking a toss of 39.18 meters. She placed second at the NNU Invite with the performance, and her mark is good for sixth in the NAIA and second among CCC athletes in the event this season.

Women’s Outdoor Track
Corban’s Hannah Clarizio has been named the Red Lion women’s outdoor track Athlete of the Week.
Clarizio, a senior out of Molalla, Ore., eclipsed the NAIA 'A' standard time in the steeplechase for the second-consecutive meet, clearing the benchmark by over eight seconds at the Willamette Invitational on Saturday. Her time of 11:09.24 is the second-fastest time in the NAIA in the event, second only to her own time from the week prior.

Men’s Outdoor Track
Southern Oregon’s Rhett Gonzalez has been chosen as the Red Lion men’s outdoor track Athlete of the Week.
Gonzalez becomes the second-straight Raider to take home conference men’s outdoor track Athlete of the Week plaudits, easily clearing the NAIA ‘A’ standard in 110-meter hurdles with his time of 14.52 seconds in the event on Saturday. The senior from Salinas, Calif. comfortably bested the field of 10 in the event, clocking the second-fastest time in Southern Oregon history and the No. 4 time on the NAIA national performance list.

Men’s Golf
Andrew Harrison of British Columbia has been chosen as the Red Lion men’s Golfer of the Week.
Harrison, a senior golfer for the No. 12-ranked Thunderbirds, tied for ninth at the Battle at Primm during the week. He finished with a score of 1-under-par 209, improving each round (73-70-66) and capping off his tournament with an impressive round-three tally of 66 strokes (-4). The Thunderbirds finished eighth in the team competition.

Women’s Golf
British Columbia’s Esther Lee has been chosen as the Red Lion women’s Golfer of the Week.
Rookie golfer Lee recorded her third individual victory of the season, winning in a playoff at the Battle at Primm. Both she and Eryn Ellis of Rocky Mountain College finished the two-round tournament with a score of 1-over-par 145. The two golfers then went into a playoff, which Lee won on the first hole. Lee's performance helped the Thunderbirds to a seven-stoke win in the team competition.
