SALEM, Ore. – Oregon Tech (8-25) snapped a 12-game losing streak with a sweep of NCAA DIII Willamette University (11-12), Wednesday afternoon, 10-6 and 4-0 at John Lewis Field.

Tech jumped out to an early lead scoring three-runs in the top of the first, taking advantage of four walks and a pair of singles. The Bearcats answered with two-runs of their own in the bottom of the frame on two-walks, two-singles and an OIT error.
 
Willamette then tied the game at three with a run in the bottom of the third.
 
Tech took the lead back for good with four-runs in the top of the sixth on five-hits to go up 7-3.
 
The Owls extended the lead to 9-3 with two more runs in the top of the eighth, highlighted by a Tristan Shea double.
 
The Bearcats added an unearned run in the bottom of the eighth trimming the Owls' lead to 9-4, the Owls got that run back in the top of the ninth on a Micah Jio home run to go up 10-4, then held on for the 10-6 win.
 
Josh Davis picked up the win for OIT as Jio led the Hooter with 5-hits
 
Game 2 Oregon Tech 4 Willamette 0 (7-innings)
 
Four Oregon Tech pitchers combined on a five-hit shutout with John Schulz picking up the win to improve to 2-4 in the game that featured a 45-minute rain/lightning delay.
 
The Owls took an early 1-0 lead in the third on an Xzavian Gonzales double that scored Michael Tarakhchyan with the eventual game winner.
 
An Austin Zavala two-run homer in the 6th gave the Owls a 3-0 lead. OIT then added an insurance run in the top of the 7th on a Jio double that scored Austin Florez.
 
Ben Hood put the Bearcats down in order to seal the shutout win for Tech.
 
The Owls will look to carry the momentum into this weekend NAIA-West play when they host College of Idaho Saturday and Sunday at Kiger Stadium.
