Orozco Selected as CCC Wrestler of the Year
LA GRANDE, Ore. – Anthony Orozco, a junior from Menlo College, has been selected as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Wrestler of the Year by a vote of the league coaches.
The Murrieta, California native capped off an impressive season winning an individual title at 184lbs. at the NAIA National Championships last week in De Moines, Iowa. Orozco helped lead the Oaks to an 8
th place finish in the team standings. He was also named the NAIA Tournament Most Outstanding Wrestler.
The All-American amassed a 37-2 overall record that included a CCC Championship at the same weight class. Orozco also won in commanding fashion throughout the season racking up wins via seven-pins, eight-technical falls and eight-major decisions. Earning 2019 CCC Academic All-Conference honors, Orozco maintains a 3.65 GPA in Accounting at Menlo landing him on the Dean’s List, as well as, being named a 2019 Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athlete.
