LA GRANDE, Ore. – The 2019 men’s and women’s Golf Championships, presented by U.S. Bank get underway on Monday April 22. Conference teams will maneuver the Jack Nicholas course at Pronghorn Resort in Bend, Oregon. The first tee time is 9 a.m. Walla Walla University is serving as host.
 
CCC newcomer the University of British Columbia enters the tournament as the favorites to take the team titles for both men and women. On the men’s side UBC has a 15-0 conference record winning all of the regular season tournaments thus far.  Oregon Tech is in 2nd place in the standings followed by Corban. Individually, the Thunderbirds boast six of the top ten spots in scoring average with Andrew Harrison out front with a 70.0 average. Alejandro Armijo and Mayson Tibbs of Oregon Tech are right behind Harrison with a 71.1 and 71.6 average.
 
Esther Lee of UBC leads a strong contingent with a 74.5 scoring average which tops the CCC. Teammate Kate Johnston at 75.8 is in second followed by Oregon Tech’s Payton Canon in third at 76.3. In conference play the ladies are also 15-0.
 
The tournament serves as the final regular season affair along with the post-season Championship. The winning teams will earn the league’s automatic bids to the NAIA National Championships. Individual medalists, if not on the winning teams will also qualify for Nationals.
 
Tee times begin at 9 a.m. on both Monday and Tuesday with the men playing 36/18 and the women 18/18.
