The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period April 15-21.
Softball – Player
Mckenna Armantrout of Oregon Tech has been selected as the Red Lion softball Player of the Week.
Armantrout, a hometown product for the No. 12-ranked Owls, was unstoppable at the plate in the team’s series win over (RV) College of Idaho. She hit at a ridiculous .692 clip (9-for-13), while scoring three runs and blasting a home run over the weekend.

Sarah Abramson of Oregon Tech has been named the Red Lion softball Pitcher of the Week.
Abramson performed her best when her team needed her most this weekend, dominating in the circle during the No. 12-ranked Owls’ crucial matchup with (RV) College of Idaho. She delivered back-to-back shutout wins, allowing just seven hits across 13 total innings of work, while also striking out 14 Yotes.

Baseball – Player
Lewis-Clark State’s Riley Way has been selected as the Red Lion baseball Player of the Week.
Way, a hometown product for the (RV) Warriors, had an exceptional weekend at the dish and on the base paths against Corban and NCAA Division II Northwest Nazarene. The sophomore second baseman tallied seven hits (7-for-10) in three games, hitting two bombs against NNU. Way also swiped a trio of bags between the three games, increasing his season total to 12.
Honorable mention: Jared Bell, CRB
Baseball – Pitcher
Niall Windeler of British Columbia has been chosen as the Red Lion baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Windeler continues to make UBC history on the mound. The Thunderbirds' junior pitcher threw a 106-pitch no-hitter Saturday against Oregon Tech. Windeler struck out 10 Owl batters and surrendered no walks. In fact, he was nearly perfect, facing the minimum of 27 batters, with just one getting on base via an error. That base runner was then forced out in an ensuing double play. It is the first solo, nine-inning no-hitter in UBC history. With the win, he improves to 4-3 on the season with a 3.27 ERA.
Honorable mention: Logan Nousen, OIT
Men’s Outdoor Field
Michael Schmidt of Corban has been chosen as the Red Lion men’s outdoor field Athlete of the Week.
Schmidt, a junior out of Battle Ground, Wash., became Corban track & field's first-ever conference champion in the decathlon at last week's CCC Multi-Event Championships. He broke his own school record with a 6763-point performance, landing at No. 2 on the NAIA performance list. Schmidt finished in the top-three of all 10 events.

Men’s Outdoor Track
British Columbia’s Kieran Lumb has been chosen as the Red Lion men’s outdoor track Athlete of the Week.
Lumb rocketed to the top of the NAIA's 5,000-meter performance list with his outstanding showing at the Mt. SAC Relays this weekend. In an event that featured mostly professionals and NCAA Division I athletes, Lumb placed ninth in the men's invitational race with a time of 13:40.51, finishing second among collegiate runners. His time of 13:40.51 is more than 46 seconds ahead of his next-closest rival in the NAIA, and it would also put him at No. 14 in the current NCAA Division I rankings. Lumb's time also surpassed the Canadian standard in the 5,000 meters for the Pan American Games and the World University Games.
