The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period April 22-28.

 

Softball – Player

Trystin Crofts of College of Idaho has been selected as the Red Lion softball Player of the Week.

 

Crofts was an integral part of the (RV) Yote lineup in the squad’s clutch series split against No. 4 Southern Oregon. The junior from Tooele, Utah went 5-for-10 over the four-game series, scoring four times, collecting three doubles, smashing a pair of triples, and driving in three.

Softball – Pitcher

Colette Robert of College of Idaho has been named the Red Lion softball Pitcher of the Week.

 

Robert was dominant throughout the weekend against the top-offensive team in the CCC, tossing a complete-game five-hitter in a 3-1 victory for the Yotes in the series opener—a victory that ended the Raiders’ 22-game CCC winning streak. She also retired the final eight batters of game two, sealing the day-one doubleheader sweep and earning the save.

Baseball – Player

Lewis-Clark State’s Kody Garvin has been selected as the Red Lion baseball Player of the Week.

 

Garvin was a force to be reckoned with at the plate for (RV) Lewis-Clark State over the weekend, tallying 11 hits in 21 at-bats. The Meridian, Idaho native blasted three home runs and drove in 11 runs, collecting multiple RBIs in each game of the series with Oregon Tech. He also went 2-for-3 with a double in the team’s 5-2 victory over NCAA Division I foe Seattle University.

Baseball – Pitcher

Garrett Hawkins of British Columbia has been chosen as the Red Lion baseball Pitcher of the Week.

 

Hawkins was excellent in a 1-0 win for UBC over College of Idaho. With little room for error, he allowed only two hits and a walk over seven innings of work, while striking out five Yote batters. The rookie needed just 87 pitches to complete his stint, improving to 4-5 on the season.

Men’s Outdoor Field

Josh Brown of College of Idaho has been chosen as the Red Lion men’s outdoor field Athlete of the Week.

 

Brown had a monster day at the BSU Border Clash, crushing the school record in the hammer throw by three meters. His toss (54.08 meters) surpasses the NAIA ‘A’ standard, and tops all CCC efforts. Brown also recorded the top throw in the conference in the discus with his 49.96 meter performance, another NAIA ‘A’ standard mark.

Women’s Outdoor Field

Maggie Ledbetter of Eastern Oregon has been chosen as the Red Lion women’s outdoor field Athlete of the Week.

 

Ledbetter recorded personal records in all three of the events she competed in at the BSU Border Clash, taking first in the discus and shot put. The rookie from Cove, Ore. had an automatic NAIA 'A' qualifying mark in the discus with a toss of 44.48 meters, ranking sixth in the NAIA this season. Her mark in the discus ranks second all-time at EOU, while her shot put ranks fifth.

Women’s Outdoor Track

Kiersten Lancaster of College of idaho has been named the Red Lion women’s outdoor track Athlete of the Week.

 

Lancaster, a sophomore from Declo, Idaho, recording the No. 1 time in the NAIA this season in the 100-meter hurdles at this weekend’s BSU Border Clash. It’s also the third-fastest time in College of Idaho history. In addition, she also ran the third leg of the team’s 4x400-meter relay, which hit the NAIA ‘B’ Standard with a second-place time of 3:55.80.

Men’s Outdoor Track

Riley Sine of Northwest has been chosen as the Red Lion men’s outdoor track Athlete of the Week.

 

Sine, a junior from Spokane Valley, Wash., broke the Northwest school record in the 5,000 meters at the WWU Ralph Vernachia Meet. He finished with an NAIA ‘B’ standard time of 14:47.59, placing first in the field of 23 athletes.

Women’s Golf

British Columbia’s Avril Li has been chosen as the Red Lion women’s Golfer of the Week.

 

Li earned individual medalist honors at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship in Bend, Ore., and led the No. 6-ranked Thunderbirds to the team title. Li shot rounds of 73 and 79 to finish the tournament at 8-over-par 152, a stroke ahead of teammate Esther Lee. British Columbia won the team competition by 23 shots over Oregon Tech to earn the CCC's automatic berth to the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship in May.

Men’s Golf

British Columbia’s Andrew Harrison has been chosen as the Red Lion men’s Golfer of the Week.

 

Harrison shot a three-round score of 6-under-par 210 (69-70-71) to earn medalist honors at the CCC Championships. The senior led the No. 13 Thunderbirds to the team title, as well, winning by 53 strokes in their first year as an associate member of the conference. The triumph also gives the squad a spot at the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship. If that wasn’t enough, Harrison was also crowned the conference's Player of the Year after recording the best stroke average (70.0) in CCC play.
