OKLAHOMA, OK. – For only the second time in school history, the Oregon Tech women's golf team made the cut at the NAIA Women's National Golf Tournament at Lincoln Park Golf Course as the field was trimmed down from 30 to 17 teams.
"The ladies found a golf course with tougher scoring conditions today," said Head Coach
Jeff Corkill. "It was a bit on the windy side and the course is firming up fast. I felt like the pin locations today were also much more difficult than the first day. That being said they fought hard. It is nice to see Kylie Collom propping up the back end of our line-up. She played great. On another note it seems like Ashley Zhu is starting to come out of the funk she has been in or the resent weeks. If those two get going, we should look at moving up the leader board over the next few days."
Tech shot a second round 314 after the first 304 for a total of 618, 28 strokes behind fellow CCC member British Columbia who leads the Tournament with a two-day total of 590.
Stephanie Koza, Aerin Song, and Kylie Collom all fired second round 78's to lead the Owls.
Koza is tied for 25, Payton Canon in tied for 38
th after her second round 81, followed by Song in 69
th, Collom in 89
th, and Ashley Zhu in 103
rd.
Third Round play will begin at 6:00 AM (Pacific) on Thursday with
live stats available here.
