Lewis-Clark State College Accepted to CCC as Twelfth Full Member
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference Council of Presidents’ has accepted Lewis-Clark State College, located in Lewiston, Idaho, as the leagues’ twelfth full member the conference office announced.
“We are very pleased to welcome Lewis-Clark State College as our newest member,” stated CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell. “When we were initially contacted by the campus leadership about their interest, we immediately began assessing the positives of adding such a strong and storied institution to our ranks.” “LCSC’s location, stellar academic reputation, broad array of athletic program offerings, and commitment to excellence make them an ideal fit,” added Cashell.
Lewis-Clark athletic offerings in NAIA sports include; men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s Track/Field, baseball and men’s and women’s tennis. The school plans on adding women’s soccer in the near future. The Warrior baseball program has won nineteen NAIA national titles and is home to the NAIA Word Series at historic Harris Field. “Athletics is an integral part of LCSC’s history and future, and we are excited to begin this new chapter,” stated Lewis-Clark State President Dr. Cynthia Pemberton. “The Cascade Collegiate Conference is an excellent fit in terms of student-athlete core values and athletic competition. We are very much looking forward to this new opportunity.”
The Warriors have spent the past 21 years in the Frontier Conference, where the member schools are located in Montana. They will continue in the Frontier through 2019-20 with membership in the CCC set to begin with the 2020-21 season. "The LCSC athletic department is thrilled about the opportunity to join the Cascade Collegiate Conference,” said LCSC Director of Athletics Brooke Henze. “It's a bittersweet transition too, sad to leave the Frontier Conference and the people but excited about future of the Warriors and the CCC."
