Wellman Named CCC Communications/Media Coordinator
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Commissioner of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Robert Cashell announced Monday the hiring of Sammi Wellman as the Communications/Media Coordinator.
“I am very excited to welcome Sammi to the conference," stated Commissioner Cashell. "With her background and extensive experience in Sports Information, I have no doubt that our content will be top-notch and that our presence across all media platforms will continue to increase.”
Wellman comes to the CCC with a wealth of experience at various levels of Athletics Communication. Most recently, Wellman was the Director of Sports Information at California Baptist University for almost six years. She helped the Lancers transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II before its first NCAA Division I season in 2018-19, overseeing the Athletics Communications Department for all 20 intercollegiate sports.

Prior to CBU, Wellman held roles in sports information at San Francisco State and Humboldt State. She also interned at her alma mater Azusa Pacific after finishing a stellar collegiate career on the women’s soccer team.
Wellman (formerly Sheppard) was a goalkeeper for the Cougars and received the Dr. Leroy Walker Champion of Character award for the Cougars her senior year.
Wellman graduated from APU in 2010 with a degree in journalism.
