Series 1: Story 4- Moving Forward, Looking Back; CCC Celebrates 25 Years: The final story in our anniversary series chronicles the history of individual national championships

CORVALLIS, Ore. – If, over the past twenty-five years, a period of time could be singled out as the most prolific in terms of individual accomplishments within the Cascade Collegiate Conference it would have to be between 2011-2014.

In 2010 a student-athlete would arrive to The College of Idaho and for the next four years keep the NAIA sports world transfixed on the Caldwell, Idaho campus.  During this span Hillary Holt, a native of Boise, Idaho, would go on to earn a mind-boggling nine individual national titles in cross-country and track/field along with two national titles as a member of the programs distance medley relay team. The numbers make Holt the most decorated student-athlete, male or female, in CCC history. Holt's nine stand-alone titles include; cross-country champion- 2011, 2012, indoor mile champion- 2013, 2014, Indoor 3,000-meter champion- 2013, indoor 800-meter champion- 2014, and outdoor 1500-meter champion- 2012, 2013, 2014. Add in the DMR championships and the number grows to eleven.

Just two hours north of Caldwell, Robbie Haynie burst onto the NAIA scene during 2011 and 2012 competing for Eastern Oregon University. When the smoke settled from the fire he lit under the men's track/field programs in the NAIA the multi-talented Haynie earned seven NAIA individual championships. The mark makes him the most decorated male student-athlete all-time in the CCC and second behind Holt overall. Haynie captivated fans with his unnerving heights attained in the pole vault and displayed his all-around athleticism in the grueling Heptathlon (indoor) and Decathlon (outdoor). His titles came in; indoor pole vault-2011, 2012, indoor heptathlon-2011, 2012, outdoor pole vault-2011, outdoor high jump-2012, and outdoor decathlon- 2012. Haynie's' 5781 points in the 2012 indoor heptathlon still stands as the NAIA record.

While Holt and Haynie standout, the past twenty-five years has also produced some incredible overall numbers including; 165 cross-country, track/field individual titles, 10 relay team titles, one women's golf medalist and 71 individual wrestling titles.
