Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period August 12-18.
Volleyball - Attacker
Oregon Tech’s Melody Edwards has been chosen as the Red Lion volleyball Attacker of the Week.
Edwards, a 6-3 sophomore middle blocker from Placentia, Calif., led the CCC in hitting percentage with a .439 attack clip, which sits fourth in the NAIA. She also posted a 3.0 kills per set average in the opening week. Edwards hit .360 with 11 kills and two errors on 25 Swings in OIT’s 3-1 victory over Life Pacific and followed with a .562 hitting percentage (10 kills, 1 error on 16 swings) to lift the Lady Owls 3-0 over Simpson.

Volleyball-Defender
Eastern Oregon University’s Kiley McMurtrey has been named the Red Lion volleyball Defender of the Week.
McMurtrey, a 5-3 junior libero/defensive specialist from Idaho Falls, Idaho, had back-to-back 21 dig matches to start the season, leading the Mountaineers to two victories in Florida. She also added eight total assists and four service aces.

Volleyball-Setter
Eastern Oregon’s Madison Pilon has been named the Red Lion volleyball Setter of the Week.
Pilon, a 5-11 junior setter from Olympia, Wash., had two excellent matches to start the season as the full-time starting setter, posting two double-doubles averaging 20.5 assists and 16 digs over seven sets.
