EUGENE, Ore. – Northwest Christian University extended their win streak to four straight on Tuesday night after beating the Deacons of New Hope Christian College in three sets, 25-10, 25-13, 25-17.
The Beacons (4-0) were able to get off to a hot start against New Hope as they won the first set 25-10 with a kill percentage of .435. They ended the night hitting .367 with 37 kills. NCU was able to hold the Deacons (0-3) to a negative hitting percentage (-.071) for the match.
Freshman Payton Jones led the Beacons with nine kills while sophomore Makenna Northern contributed with a game high 23 assists, two aces and eight digs. Katie Allen (pictured) had a .750 kill percentage as she was six of eight in kills during the third set. Senior Kayla Olson had a match high 13 digs in the win.
Brookyn and Chandler Heinrick led New Hope as they each contributed seven kills, totaling 14 of the Deacons 19. Violet Mills added 11 assists and six digs in the loss.
NCU will play next at the Lewis-Clark State Tournament on August 30
th in Lewiston, Idaho as they open against Montana Western at 3:00 pm.
