The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period August 19-25.
 
Volleyball - Attacker
Southern Oregon University’s Taylor Ristvedt was named the Red Lion Volleyball Attacker of the Week.
 
Ristvedt, a 6-2 redshirt-senior from Portland, hit over .500 in SOU’s last two matches of the Raider Invitational to lead the Raiders to a pair of five-set comeback wins. She averaged 4.11 kills per set and also had 11 block assists over the week.
 
Honorable mention: Cassie Cunningham, Corban
 
Volleyball - Defender
Eastern Oregon University’s Kiley McMurtrey was named the Red Lion Volleyball Defender of the Week for the second week in a row.
 
McMurtrey, a 5-3 junior libero/defensive specialist from Idaho Falls, Idaho, had another strong weekend with at least 10 digs all five matches, including a 28 dig performance in the 5-set win over No. 14 Hastings. She had 23 digs in just three sets against No. 3 Grand View, helping lead the Mountaineers to 3 top-25 wins this weekend.

Volleyball - Setter
Eastern Oregon University’s Madison Pilon was named the Red Lion Volleyball Setter of the Week for the second week in a row.
 
Pilon, a 5-11 junior setter from Olympia, Wash., finished with 20 assists or more in all, but one match this week, leading the Mountaineers to a 5-0 record and three top-25 wins. She had back-to-back double-doubles against No. 3 Grand View and No. 22 Bellevue.

Women’s Soccer – Defensive
Eastern Oregon’s Josee Bassett was named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Bassett, a 5-6 senior defender from Coeur d'Alen, Idaho, was a dominant force on both sides of the ball for the Mountaineers, leading the team to a 1-0-1 record at two top-25 opponents. Bassett scored the lone goal in the Mountaineers 1-0 victory over No. 12 Hastings on a penalty kick. She also helped center the defense that limited the Broncos to just eight shots and three on net.

Women’s Soccer - Offensive
Eastern Oregon University’s Jenna Jensen was named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
The 5-5 senior midfielder from Spokane, Wash., scored the lone goal for EOU in its 1-1 draw at No. 9 Hastings. Jensen’s goal gave the Mountaineers an early 1-0 lead in the match as they went 1-0-1 visiting two top-25 opponents.
 
Honorable mention: Maddie Lockwood, Evergreen
 
Men’s Soccer – Defensive
The Evergreen State College’s Wylie Suda was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Suda, a 6-1 junior defender from Deming, Wash., played all 92 minutes for the Geoducks against Whitworth, helping keep the Pirates scoreless in regulation. He also scored a goal against Fraser Valley on his only shot.
 
Men’s Soccer - Offensive
Eastern Oregon University’s Calvin Mitchell was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
The 6-foot junior midfielder from Palmdale, Calif., had a goal and an assist to lift EOU 3-2 in overtime over Whitworth. Mitchell was pivotal in the victory, creating the most scoring chances for the Mountaineers from the midfield.
