Men’s Soccer Falls To Western Washington

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – This was the last preseason game for The Evergreen State College men’s soccer team before Cascade Collegiate Conference play opens on Friday, Sept. 20th. The Geoducks faced Division II member Western Washington Saturday night and fell 7-0.

Evergreen recorded nine shots for the game with four on goal. The four shots on goal came from Joe DiCarlo, Luis Clemen and Mitchell Balmer. Western Washington had 23 shots with 10 on goal.

Hunter Bowman was back in the net for Evergreen and recorded three saves.

WWU got on the board in the 27th minute and again in the 30th to take a 2-0 lead into the half. The Vikings closed the game with five goals in seven minutes.

The Geoducks will open CCC play on Friday, Sept. 20th in Mont., against Carroll College at 4 p.m. MST. Evergreen will then face Providence at 3:30 p.m. MST on Sept. 21st in Great Falls, Mont.

Before opening CCC play, the Geoducks will have a scrimmage on the Geoducks Pitch on Friday, Sept. 6th at 11 a.m.
