PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The prestige of the Corban University men's soccer team continues to grow, with program alum Timur Zhividze signing a professional contract with the Philadelphia Fury over the weekend. The former Warrior star becomes the squad's fifth player to reach the professional ranks after competing for the Navy and Gold.
"I've always dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player," said Zhividze. "Now, with God's blessing, it's a reality. I've been working extremely hard to get here and it's amazing to see it paying off."
Zhividze joins former teammate Jordan Farr—who currently competes as a member of the United Soccer League's (USL) Indy Eleven—as the second Warrior in three years to sign professionally. The Vancouver, Wash. native stands as one of the most dangerous offensive threats to ever wear the Navy and Gold.
The two-time NAIA All-American can found be found all throughout the Corban record books, ranking fourth in team history in single-season goals (23) and points (57), sixth in single-season assists (11), and fourth in career goals (39) and points (99).
Additionally, Zhividze was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Year during both of his seasons in Salem.
Speaking of his experience at the school, Zhividze stated: "Transferring to Corban has been one of the best decisions I've made in my life. From the amazing coaching staff, to the players, to the professors and community, Corban has been a blessing to me and is a great place to set you up for future success."
The Fury compete as part of the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), playing their matches at Franklin Field in downtown Philadelphia.
Per club policy, terms of the contract will not be released.
