SALEM, Ore. – In a game that remained scoreless until the 73rd minute, the goals were bound to start pouring in. The Corban University women's soccer team scored two late goals to take a 2-0 triumph over the Warner Pacific Knights on Wednesday night at CFC Soccer Complex.

"Tonight was a hard fought game against a tough opponent," said head coach Derek Faulkner. "They were organized and created some problems for us early. It was good to see us fight through some adversity and score two quality goals."

The beginning of the game was evenly matched, as there was a minimal amount of shots from either team–Corban had six, while Warner Pacific had three–in the first half.

In the second half, it looked like a similar story. However, in the 73rd minute off of a set piece from Katie Hiller, Rylee MacDonald tapped in a close-range tally that finally put the Warriors in front. In the 85th minute Hannah Hersh closed the door on the game for good with a missile strike from about 30 yards out. That was the defender's first goal of her collegiate career.

With the win, the Warriors (3-2) have finished their non-conference slate, having now won three straight contests.

Tune-up season is over for the Navy and Gold, as their next matchup is the first conference match of the season. Corban will host College of Idaho at CFC on September 20 at 12:30 p.m.
