Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Sept. 9-15.
Volleyball - Attacker
Corban University’s Jacquelyn Clark was named the Red Lion Volleyball Attacker of the Week.
Clark, a six-foot sophomore middle blocker from Albany, Ore., was efficient and dangerous all weekend long for the No. 11 ranked Warriors, proving her value on both sides of the net to help the Corban to a 2-0 weekend on the road. She delivered a new career-high in kills with 15 on Friday night, attacking at an impressive .423 clip. She then racked up 11 on the following night, hitting at an impressive .455 mark. Clark was also outstanding on the block, racking up a total of 13 between the two matches.

Volleyball - Defender
Eastern Oregon University’s Kiley McMurtrey was named the Red Lion Volleyball Defender of the Week for the fourth time this season.
McMurtrey, a 5-3 junior libero/defensive specialist from Idaho Falls, Idaho, 32 digs in two three-set seeps of Walla Walla University and No. 20-ranked College of Idaho, averaging 5.33 per set. She was stellar at the line, as well, finishing with three aces to help the eighth-ranked Mountaineers improve to 13-1 on the year.

Volleyball - Setter
Eastern Oregon University’s Madison Pilon was named the Red Lion Volleyball Setter of the Week, her third honor of the year.
Pilon, a 5-11 junior setter from Olympia, Wash., had two great games in back-to-back sweeps, averaging 28.5 assists in the two matches. She totaled 32 assists in the sweep of C of I.

Women’s Soccer – Defensive
Carroll College’s Sydney Green was named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Green, a 5-foot-8 goalkeeper from Orting, Wash., kept two clean sheets against NCAA Division II opponents. She made four saves in 110 minutes to help the Fighting Saints tie MSU Billings 0-0 and then made three saves in Carroll’s 1-0 victory over Black Hills State.

Women’s Soccer - Offensive
Eastern Oregon’s Morgan Farrington was named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
The 5-10 junior forward from Meridian, Idaho, Farrington came off the bench to score two goals (the third and fourth for EOU) and assist on another in the Mounties' 6-0 rout of No. 24 Hope International. Her first goal was on a perfect cross that Farrington beautifully redirected on a header. She had three shots with two on goal.

Men’s Soccer – Defensive
Northwest University’s Payton Gunhus was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Gunhus, a 6-1 senior defender from Renton, Wash., anchored the Eagle backline to help NU grab a 5-1 victory over CalTech. He also got in on the attack, scoring a goal for the Eagles with a header off a corner kick.
Men’s Soccer - Offensive
Northwest University’s Elliot Misic was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Misic, a 5-foot-11 freshman forward from Lake Forest Park, Wash., scored his third goal of his collegiate career in the ninth minute of action to help NU beat CalTech 5-1. The Eagles have now out-scored their opponents 25-1 over three games.
Men’s Golf – Golfer
No. 6-ranked UBC’s Ethan de Graaf was named the first Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week.
A sophomore from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, de Graaf earned his first individual collegiate tournament victory, winning the Multnomah University Fall Invitational, which came to completion on Tuesday, in Woodburn, Ore. de Graaf shot rounds of 73, 70, and 69 to record a score of 4-under 212. He was the only player out of 46 to finish under par for the event. He led the UBC Thunderbirds, ranked sixth in the NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll, to the team title.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
Oregon Tech’s Payton Canon was named the first Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.
A sophomore from Greenwood Village, Colo., Canon gave Oregon Tech its first medalist of the new season when she played even par golf Tuesday to win the Multnomah Invitational women's tournament at the OGA Golf Course.
Men’s Cross Country – Runner
College of Idaho’s Alex Martin was named the first Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
The senior from Bend, Ore., dominated the field at the Eastern Oregon Open, defeating the 40-man field by 27 seconds at Lane Farms. He finished with a time of 25:35 in the 8K.
Women’s Cross Country – Runner
College of Idaho’s Molly Vitale-Sullivan was named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
The senior from Pocatello, Idaho, made a triumphant return to the cross country course after missing the majority of 2018 due to injury, using a late race surge to earn the individual title at the EOU Open. She finished the 5K course with a time of 18:35.
