RACE RESULTS
COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – Reigning NAIA National Champion Oregon Tech, currently ranked No. 14 in the country, won the Cascade Conference Preview Meet on Friday morning, taking down three other teams in the national conversation at Middlefield Golf Course.
All five scorers came across the finish line in the top-16 for the Owls who posted a score of 47. Eastern Oregon, currently receiving votes in the national poll finished second with 72 points as both teams topped No. 6 Southern Oregon with 74. Host Northwest Christian, also receiving votes, finished fourth with 99 points.
Corban University and Northwest University tied with 124 points but Corban prevailed on the tie-breaker, 4-1. Warner Pacific rounded out the team scoring in seventh (146). No. 4 College of Idaho was the only conference program not competing on Friday as they elected to stay closer to home for competition.
Warner Pacific University freshman Amelia Pullen took home the individual title as she ran a 17:46.0 to defeat NCU’s Anika Rasubala (18:09.70) by 23 seconds. OIT’s Delani Dietrich was third (18:17.9) followed by EOU’s Michelle Herbes in fourth and Shiloh Najjar from Multnomah University took fifth (18:30.70).
Rounding out the top-ten were Corban’s Sydney Nichol (18:38.2), OIT’s Mallory Ward (18:39.9), SOU’s Sydnee Kizziar (18:40.8), and Ellie Summers (18:41.7) and Kaylea Hartman (18:44.2) both from Northwest University.
The CCC teams will reconvene in Cottage Grove on Friday, November 8 for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship.
