RACE RESULTS
COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – No. 2 Southern Oregon University proved why they are the top ranked team in the CCC on Friday, cruising to a 16-point victory at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Preview Meet, hosted by Northwest Christian University at Middlefield Golf Course.
The Raiders placed all five scoring runners in the top-15 and finished with 42 points, putting distance between themselves and No. 19 Eastern Oregon in second (58). Oregon Tech, currently receiving votes in the national poll, was third (80).
Rounding out the team scoring were host NCU in fourth (103), Corban in fifth (108) and Walla Walla in sixth (121).
Taking first place individually was Northwest University Senior Riley Sine, running a 25:42.9 to beat out EOU’s Alex Navarro (25:58.8) by almost 17 seconds. Walla Walla senior Spencer Glubay (26:06.3) was third, followed by SOU’s Brandon Kelsey (26:29.4) and Alex Harbert (26:35.8).
Rounding out the top-ten were NCU’s Jacob Truitt (26:36.9) in seventh, OIT’s Jonas Hartline (26:38.0) in eighth, Deklan Humble from Southern Oregon in ninth and Hunter Schiess from EOU in tenth.
The CCC teams will reconvene in Cottage Grove on Friday, November 8 for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship.
