Red Lion Players of the Week Announced

The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period Sept. 16-22.
 
Volleyball - Attacker
College of Idaho’s Ashley Pagan was named the Red Lion Volleyball Attacker of the Week.
 
Pagan, a 5-foot-9 senior outside hitter from Colorado Springs, Colo., recorded consecutive double doubles to help the No. 20-ranked Coyotes grab 3-1 victories against Northwest University and The Evergreen State College. She added a season-high five aces in the win over NU.
 
Honorable mention: Megan Bunn, EOU
 
Volleyball - Defender
Eastern Oregon University’s Cambree Scott was named the Red Lion Volleyball Defender of the Week.
 
The six-foot sophomore middle from Bend, Ore., Scott led the No. 8 Mountaineers to 2 more home victories in the CCC, posting 11 total block assists. She was also effective on the attack with 15 kills from the middle blocker position.
 
Honorable mention: Emma Ryan, SOU
 
Volleyball - Setter
College of Idaho’s Abigail Guinn was named the Red Lion Volleyball Setter of the Week for the second time this season.
 
The 5-foot-11 freshman setter from Reno, Nev., led the Yotes to a 2-0 week. She averaged over 11 assists and two digs per set to help C of I grab two 3-1 wins at home.
 
Honorable mention: Madison Pilon, EOU
 
Women’s Soccer – Defensive
Southern Oregon’s Jessie Selby picked up her second weekly honor after she was named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
The 5-foot-7 sophomore goalkeeper from Vancouver, Wash., played a key role in No. 21-ranked SOU’s scoreless draw with Oregon Tech, making seven saves in 110 minutes between the posts. It marked Selby’s third shutout in four starts.
 
Honorable Mention: Ashlee Howell, UP; Josee Bassett, EOU
 
Women’s Soccer - Offensive
Northwest University’s Callie Wright was named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Wright, a five-foot freshman forward from Woodway, Wash., scored three goals and assisted two others to help NU grab two road victories. She scored a goal and assisted the other two in the Eagles’ 3-0 win at Providence, before scoring two goals in a 4-2 victory over Carroll College.
 
Honorable mention: Eme Mclaughlin, UP
 
Men’s Soccer – Defensive
Carroll College’s Kaden Connor was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Connor, a 6-foot-3 sophomore goalkeeper from Boise, Idaho, allowed just one goal in 180 minutes of action to help his team go 2-0 on the week. He made 12 saves, including seven in the Saints’ 1-0 shutout victory over The Evergreen State College.
 
Honorable mention: Fernando Gutierrez, UP
 
Men’s Soccer - Offensive
Walla Walla University’s Emmett Semple was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
The six-foot junior forward from Corvallis, Mont., scored three goals on the week to help the Wolves go 1-1 on the week and grab their first-ever shutout since joining the CCC. He scored both goals in a 3-2 loss at Warner Pacific University and has already surpassed his goal total from last year.
 
Honorable mention: Sky Swenson, RMC
 
Men’s Golf – Golfer
No. 6-ranked UBC’s Ethan de Graaf was named the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week for the second week in a row.
 
A sophomore from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, de Graaf continued his blistering start to the 2019-20 golf season by earning his second victory in as many tournaments. On Saturday, he completed an outstanding performance at the Saint Martin’s Invitational in DuPont, Wash., winning with a score of 12-under par 204. He shot three-consecutive rounds of 4-under 68 to earn a one-stroke win. The 54-hole total is tied for the second lowest in UBC history.
 
Men’s Cross Country – Runner
Northwest University’s Riley Sine was named the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
A senior from Spokane Valley, Wash, Sine became NU's first winner of a cross country event since 2017. He finished the CCC Preview 8K race in a time of 25 minutes, 42 seconds to take first out of 59 total runners.
 
Honorable mention: Spencer Glubay, WWU
 
Women’s Cross Country – Runner
Warner Pacific University’s Amelia Pullen was named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
The true freshman from Washougal, Wash., set a personal and WPU record in the 5k with a time of 17:46. It was also her second-ever collegiate race.
