VANCOUVER – The host team sits in third place heading into the final day of the UBC Thunderbirds Invitational in Bellingham, Wash.
 
Ten teams and 54 players competed in the first and second rounds Monday at the Cascade Collegiate Conference event on the beautiful Sudden Valley Golf Course.
 
Rookie Malcolm Glumpak and sophomore Andrzej Wierzba are the top T-Birds, as both are tied for fifth in the individual standings at 2-under-par 142.
 
Glumpak opened with a 68 and then carded a 74. Wierzba shot 73 to start the day, before improving on that result with a 69.
 
As a team, third place UBC (6-over 582) posted rounds of 5-over 293 and 1-over 289 on Monday, and is the top CCC program on the leaderboard.
 
Fraser Valley leads the way at 19-under 557, Daniel Campbell leads the field with a 9-under 135 for the Cascades, while teammate Kyle Claggett is just behind him at 5-under 139.
 
Victoria is third at 1-under 575, with Brandon McManus leading the way for the Vikes at 3-under 141, tied for third.
 
Oregon Tech (306-286—592) is 10 shots behind UBC, while Northwest Christian sits fifth at 23-over 599 (303-296).
 
With back-to-back even par 72s, Jacob Larson of Multnomah (Ore.) is tied for eighth in the individual competition.
 
The final round of the UBC Thunderbirds Invitational will take place Tuesday at Sudden Valley, with a shotgun start scheduled for 8:30 a.m. PT.
