CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 19-ranked Corban University volleyball team was named the “Under Armour Team of the Week” for Sept. 2-8, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.

In the first weekend of conference action, the Warriors faced two tough opponents: No. 12 College of Idaho and No. 10 Eastern Oregon University and were up for the challenge.

Corban opened with a three-set victory over the Coyotes (25-19, 25-19, 25-20), utilizing a deep, well-rounded offense with no Warrior finishing in double-digit kills.

Avari Ridgway led the team with eight kills, while Cassie Cunningham registered seven of her own. Perhaps the most efficient Warriors were Lanae Wohlmacher (six kills, .429 attack percentage) and Jacquelyn Clark (four kills, .333 attack percentage); both were equally outstanding at the net, combining for six block assists and a solo block.

The next night, Corban took on a hot Mountaineer team, who was riding an 11-match win streak. After dropping the first set, the Warriors responded by taking the next three to claim the 3-1 victory (20-25, 27-25, 25-21, 25-23).

Jacquelyn Clark, Sarena Bartley, Sarah Randall, and Avari Ridgway were crucial to the squad's defensive success, with each member of the quartet garnering five block assists in the triumph. Bartley (14 kills) and Randall (10 kills) were equally impressive on the attacking end. It was Cassie Cunningham who shined brightest, with the Creswell, Ore. native compiling a game-high 17 kills.

Corban looks to build off its perfect CCC weekend as it hits the road to take on Northwest University Friday, Sept. 13, and The Evergreen State College the following night.
