McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Three goals from the Corban University women's soccer team was enough to silence the Linfield College crowd in McMinnville, Ore. on Saturday evening, with the Warriors cruising to a 3-1 win over the Wildcats.
The Warriors had control from the get-go, as they picked up their first tally on an own-goal in the 25th minute, which got them off and running. The Navy and Gold added another goal in the first half off the boot of Olivia McMurphy in the 29th minute, the first of her Warrior career.
In the second half, the Warriors coasted to the finish as Hannah Shore added a tally in the 71st minute for her third goal of the season. Malie Kuia was brilliant in net, as she had seven saves and allowed just one goal, which was a penalty kick in the 81st minute off the foot of Madison Topaum.
With the win, the Warriors (2-2) have won back-to-back games for the first time this season, and will now be searching for their third straight win, with their next contest set to take place on September 11 against Warner Pacific University.
The game against the Knights will be a non-conference matchup, the final tune-up before Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) play begins on September 20.
