OLYMPIA, Wash. - Eastern Oregon came out and took the lead and never gave it up to defeat The Evergreen State College women’s basketball team 88-63 Friday night.

EOU was led by Megan Still, who had 22 points, Taylor Stricklin added 14 points and Kylie Smith had 10 points.

Evergreen was led by Jerri Maluyo, who had 22 points and Imani Dunn recorded 10 points.

The Mountaineers scored the first basket of the game and the Geoducks were never able to come back and tied or take the lead. EOU had its largest lead of 36 with 2:57 left in the game and had a 42-28 lead going into intermission.

EOU shot 50.7 percent from the field and 40 percent from the 3-point line. Evergreen shot 37.3 percent and 30.8 percent from the 3-point line. The Mountaineers recorded seven steals off of the 15 turnovers from Evergreen.
