Vancouver, Wash. Receives Million Dollar Economic Boost from NAIA Cross Country Championships
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 64th annual men’s and 40th women’s NAIA Cross Country Championships were hosted in Vancouver, Wash. by the Cascade Collegiate Conference for the 6th time.
The NAIA Cross Country Championships brings in around 72 teams and their fans to Vancouver from anywhere between one-to-four days. Over the course of the Championship, teams and fans not only occupy the hotels of the region, but frequent local restaurants and attractions.
"Having the honor of hosting this prestigious event, essentially in the backyard of our conference is a huge plus for our member schools, " stated Commissioner Robert Cashell. "With the CCC such a strong cross country league it makes it that much more special and we thank our partners at Historic Fort Vancouver and Visit Vancouver USA."

“We were thrilled to have the NAIA Cross Country Championships return to Vancouver this year, with more than 700 runners competing and filling over 1800 room nights,” said Michelle McKenzie, Visit Vancouver USA Director of Marketing and Communications. “The races are a perfect fit for our community and are also a great boost to the economy, generating an estimated $1.3 million in economic impact. Our local businesses were thrilled with the turnout over the course of the races.”
