Portland, Ore. | Warner Pacific completed the weekend sweep with a dominating 93-69 performance over The Evergreen State College on Saturday night.
KJ Bosco led the Knights with 20 points and seven boards and Miles Brown was stellar again for the Knights with 18 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Behind them was Stephon Shaw who has been a consistent offensive force for
Jared Valentine coming off the bench with 16 points and six rebounds in 16 minutes.
From the tip, the Knights dominated the contest, jumping out to a 23-2 lead in the first eight minutes of play. The Geoducks couldn't buy a bucket in the first half, going 4-20 from deep. The Knights were having their way from both deep and in the paint.
Warner Pacific ended the night with 44 points in the paint versus the TESC's 30.
The second half was much like the first, Warner Pac found the bottom of the net. Just when the Geoducks needed a boost, Anthony Grandberry would come off the bench and sink a corner three. Deep into the second quarter, the Knights held the Geoducks scoreless for five minutes, continuing to stretch out the lead. With eight minutes remaining, Warner Pacific led by 30 points.
The two teams continued to fight but Evergreen couldn't seem to find an offensive equalizer and the Knights finished the weekend with a sweep on their home floor.
Senior and member of the former Sweet-16 team of 2017, Morris Bethea finished with 11 points and 4 assists, being a consistently levelheaded leader for the Warner Pacific squad. Jalen Ballard finished with four assists as well.
LaBrandon Price led the way for Evergreen with 18 points, followed by Anthony Grandberry's 16 off the bench, including four 3-point FG's.
The Knights will face off against a rising Multnomah squad on Tuesday evening just down the road. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm.
