Seventh Annual CCC Mascot Challenge Ready to Begin
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Seventh Annual Cascade Collegiate Conference is set to begin Friday morning at 8 a.m. PST, with voting open to the public.
Eastern Oregon University’s Monty the Mountaineer was last year’s champion, edging out three-time-champ College of Idaho’s Yote in the final round.
Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorite school mascot on the conference’s Facebook page in round one, setting up head-to-head matchups that will be held on the CCC Twitter and Instagram pages for the subsequent quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds.
The opening round consists of one group, featuring 10 member schools’ mascots with the top-eight vote-getters advancing to the next round of voting. Each mascot will then be seeded based on the number of votes received in round one. The rest of the tournament will be bracket-style, single-elimination until a champion is crowned on Feb. 12.
Voting will open by 8 a.m. Pacific on Friday, Jan. 24 and close at 8 a.m. Pacific on Saturday, Jan. 25. Initial voting will be done at the CCC Facebook page (
facebook.com/CascadeCollegiateConference) with the final three rounds held on both Twitter (
@cccsports) and Instagram (
@cascadeconference) story feature.
