Warriors Come Back To Defeat Evergreen
The Evergreen State College men's basketball team had a 18-point lead with nine minutes left in the second half, but Corban spoiled that lead and defeated the Geoducks 98-93 Friday night.
The Warriors surged back and to tie the game at 87 with 1:04 left in the second half. Corban made its last nine free throws to take the win. The Warriors were led by Mauricio Smith, who had 21 points, AJ Hodges added 20 points and Isiah Quintero and Jason Smarr both recorded 14 points.
Evergreen was led by LaBrandon Price, who had 23 points Elijah Fuller added 21 points, Mitch Wetmore recorded 15 points and Lane Kennedy recorded 10 points.
Corban shot 41.4 percent from the floor, including 50 percent in the second half. The Geoducks shot 52.9 percent from the floor and best 58.8 percent in the first half. Evergreen shot 62.5 percent from the 3-point line in the first half.
Evergreen is back in action tomorrow night at home at 7:30 p.m. against Northwest Christian.
