Second Half Comeback Hurts Evergreen

The Evergreen State College women's basketball team had the lead going into the half, but Corban came out shooting to take the lead and the 73-65 win Friday night.

Evergreen was led by Anna Cook, who had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Trinity Betoney added 16 points and Jerri Maluyo had 13 points.

The Warriors were led by Jordan Woodvine, who had 31 points, Shaelie Burgess added 17 points and Shaelie Burgess recorded 12 points. Kendra Murphy led on the rebounds with 15.

The Geoducks kept Corban to an 11.1 percent shooting on threes in the first half of the game, the Warriors came back to shoot 80 percent in the second half.

Corban shot 40.3 percent from the floor to Evergreen's 33.3 percent. The Warriors recorded 14 turnovers and the Geoducks recorded five steals.

The Geoducks had their largest lead of nine in the second quarter, Corban had its largest lead of 14 in the fourth quarter.

Evergreen is back in action at home on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. against Northwest Christian.
