Beacon Defeat Geoducks 86-61
OLYMPIA, Wash. – Northwest Christian came out shooting and never lost the lead, defeating the Evergreen State College women’s basketball team 86-61 Saturday night.
The Beacon were led by Morgan McKinney, who had 29 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Aspen Slifka added 24 points and Shanay Dotson had 12 points.
Evergreen was led by Trinity Betoney, who had 15 points and Merrily Jones added 14 points. Chloee Hunt led on the rebounds with six.
Northwest Christian shot 47.8 percent from the floor to Evergreen’s 31.9 percent. The Geoducks recorded eight steals to the 19 turnovers for the Beacon. Northwest Christian had its largest lead of 27 in the fourth quarter.
Evergreen is back in action on the road at Southern Oregon on Friday and Oregon Tech on Saturday. Both games will be played at 5:30 p.m.
