Under Armour Team of the Week Announced
CORVALLIS, Ore. –The Eastern Oregon University women’s basketball team has been named the “Under Armour Team of the Week” for January 20-26 the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
Shortly after the calendar turned to 2020 the Eastern women’s basketball team saw a 50-game home winning streak snapped in dramatic fashion with two home losses. The perennial CCC power has since regrouped with five straight wins including victories over Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon this past weekend to launch themselves back into the upper echelon of league standings.
On Friday the Mountaineers handled The Lady Owls 61-51 behind Rachel Fielder and Megan Still who each scored a team high of 12 points. Emma Logan had a game high 15 rebounds in the win.
Eastern came out firing on all cylinders on Saturday night as they routed the Raiders 73-53 with the largest lead at one point in the game at 39 points. Fielder led four players in double figures with 20 points followed by Taylor Stricklin 14, junior Jillian Albright 12, and Logan with 10. Fielder also added 10 rebounds.
Eastern Oregon (14-7, 8-3CCC) will next be in action as they travel to Warner Pacific and Multnomah January 31- February 1.
