Lions Halted by Hustlin' Owls
PORTLAND, Ore.- The Multnomah University women's basketball team (3-8, 0-4 CCC) faced off against the Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls (11-4, 5-0 CCC) on Friday night, but the Owls would leave Jim Skagen Court with their heads held high after a 47-81 victory.
At the end of the first quarter, the Lions trailed the Hustlin Owls by only two points with the score being 10-12, but the Hustlin' Owls continued to knock down shots and outscored the Lions 37-69 over the final three quarters.
Multnomah was led by their interior presence: Alaygza Portis finished her night with14 points and added 5 rebounds and 2 steals while Erykah Campbell scored 10 points and grabbed 7 boards. Payton Wangler scored 8 points and Jessica Parker added 7 points as well.
Amanda Constant led the Owls with 14 points with freshman Emma McKenney added 11-points, making 3-of-6 from long range.
Up next for the Lions is a matchup against Southern Oregon University on Saturday night at 5:30 PM.
