CRESWELL, Ore. – The Multnomah University men’s golf team claimed first-place at the Bushnell Fall Invitational on Monday, winning their first ever tournament title at Emerald Valley Golf Course.
The upstart Lions are proving to be a formidable factor in the Cascade Collegiate Conference this spring as they claimed the top two finishes and ended the day with a score of 289, hitting a collective five-over-par to defeat host Bushnell by five shots.
Jonah Pemberton (pictured) won the event and was the only player to claim a sub-par round, hitting a three-under 68. Jacob Larson followed with an even-par 71 to take second.
There was a four-way tie for third place, including a pair of players from the home team. Both Andrew Webb and Liam Bedford hit a 72, as did Multnomah’s Chase Snodgrass and Oregon Tech’s Mayson Tibbs.
Tibbs was the anchor for the Oregon Tech Blue team which took third place (298) and ended the day four shots behind Bushnell (294) in third. Corban University took fourth place (302).
Corban was led by Calvin McDonough, tying for seventh place at 73.
