Oregon Tech Dominates Bushnell Open

Cottage Grove, Ore. – Bushnell University on Friday hosted the first athletic competition in Lane County since the pandemic shutdown the sports world in March.The Beacons weslcomed five other CCC schools at the Bushnell Open at Middlefield Golf Course with Oregon Tech cruising to victory. 
 
The Owls won the meet with a perfect score, owning the first five scoring slots for 15 points. Northwest University was a distant second with 62 points, followed by Corban at 78 and Bushnell at 82. Multnomah closed out the event in fifth place with 136 points. Warner Pacific University ran three individuals at the meet as well.
 
OIT Senior Mark French (pictured), came across the finish line at 18:35.2 and won the race by nearly nine seconds over an unattached runner. The next four slots were full of Owls with Jonas Hartline (19:01.8), Nick McMillen (19:21.5), Chris Ramirez (19:21.6), and Joe Wilkinson (19:27.2) rounding out the sweep.

Northwest was the only other school to crack the top-ten as Dawson Andrews finished seventh (19:31.1) and Micah Murphy took ninth (19:46.9) amidst the 6-7-8 runners for Oregon Tech. 
 
The hosts were led by freshman Christopher Rosebrook, making a big splash in his collegiate debut with a 13th-place finish. Corban's top runner was James Busch (20:08.4) in 17th place.

This was the one and only fall event for the Beacons, who will return to competition in late January.
