Under Armour Team of the Week Announced
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Lewis-Clark State women’s basketball team has been selected as the “Under Armour Team of the Week” for December 7-13 the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
The Warriors traveled to Havre, Montana for non-conference tilts against the Montana State-Northern Skylights winning both in come-from-behind fashion.
On Friday, down 32-30 at the half, Abbie Johnson and Peyton Souvenir paced a third and fourth quarter in which LC outscored MSUN 36-22 to come away with the 66-54 victory. Johnson and Souvenir each scored 15-points. Kiara Burlage added 14-points and nine rebounds.
On Saturday a career performance by Burlage, in which the senior from Columbia Falls, Montana scored 34-points, propelled the Warriors to the 90-84 win. Burlage added her name to the LC record book going 18 of 19 from the free throw line. Johnson added 15-points for the second game in a row while Maddie Holm chipped in 13-points and nine boards.
Lewis-Clark State (3-1, 0-0 CCC) is one of only three conference teams able to play at this time and are actively seeking to schedule additional contests with several previously planned matchups for this month already having been canceled due to COVID-19.
